Cambridge has unveiled some new prototype ‘pod’ homes to tackle homelessness. The Pods are being built by Cambridge City Council to create hundreds of affordable one bedroom houses.

The pod is smaller than the average one-bedroom apartment but layout makes it easy for mobility, however the size prevents multiple people moving into the one pod.

The scheme is part of the Hill Foundation’s 200 initiative, which means that there is no costs to the authorities or homelessness providers that take them on.
